After a 5 year hiatus, Mafikizolo are back with their 7th studio album. Appropriately titled, Reunited.
The last time we heard from Mafikizolo may have been 5 years ago but the chemistry between Nhlanhla Nciza and Theo Kgosinkwe is undeniable. On their latest effort, the SAMA award winning duo has seemingly transitioned from Afro-Pop to House. Thanks to the production of House DJ, Oskido.
Even though their album cover is completely misleading, this duo has shown growth in not only there production of their music but the overall visual concept of the group has remain one of their most defining factors. This can be seen in their video for Khona below:
Key Tracks:
Without a doubt their lead single, Khona featuring, Uhuru has club-goers going crazy. It wasn't the type of song that we expected to hear from them. They took a risk by venturing into a new type of sound and it definitely paid off.
Die-hard Mafikizolo fans need not worry. The duo haven't forgotten their musical roots. Khani Mjongeni is proof of this. On this track, Mafikizolo return back to their Afro-Pop roots that have made them a household name.
Reunited and Masiqala Kabusha also deserve special mention.
