Interview with Nil Cardoso:

Q: When did you realize you wanted to be a singer?

A: I've always enjoyed singing, since I was a little kid. I started taking singing seriously about 6 years ago, after my old band's singer left. I decided to give it a try, and realized I had a good voice. Then it went from there.

Q: Has growing up in Brazil influenced you musically?

A: Not really. I mean, I started getting serious with music after I had already moved here from Brazil

Q: Can you speak Portuguese and if so would you ever record a Portuguese song?

A: Yes, I can, and yes I would if a lot of Brazilian fans demand it :)

Q: Who are some of your musical influences and why?
A: As far as singing goes, I don't really have anyone that influences me to sing.  Some of my favorite bands/artists are Simple Plan, We The Kings, Boys Like Girls, The Maine, Orianthi, Kelly Clarkson. Listening to them makes me want to write music and have a similar vibe to their sound. My father would be the closest thing to influence for me though. He's the one I come to when I need help, for advice.
Q: Will we ever get to hear a father & son collaboration?

A: Yea, possibly! Why not, right?

Q: Our favorite song from you has to be “Don’t give up on me” where did the inspiration for the song come from?
A: Thank you! After hearing about so many relationship breakups, I decided to write a song to those who, in a relationship, make mistakes and regret what they've done, and don't want their lovers to give up on them.
Q: When can we expect new music and more importantly a music video from you?
A: Not sure about a music video yet, but I plan on releasing my next EP sometime during summer/fall of next year! In the meantime, I'll be writing and possibly posting new demos/teasers on my page :)
Q: What is your song of the year?
A: Oh man, not sure if I have one. There are so many good songs. It's hard to pick just one. But Growing Up - The Maine is definitely one of my favorites.
