Eileen steps on The Red Carpet

The first lady to step on The Red Carpet this year is German lyricist, poet and author Eileen Darling. This bilingual beauty has written an anthology of poems and children’s books. Her most recognised poems are Sehnsucht bleibt ewiglich (Yearning Stays Forever), A New Beginning and Beautiful Butterfly.  Eileen admits that sometimes she engulfs herself in her work and becomes “emotionally involved” in her stories. Continue reading to find out what are her plans are for 2011 and make sure to read her latest poem “Stranded”.

Q: Why do you think writing is so important?

A: Writing is emotional freedom. Written words are a wonderful way to express your different feelings and moods. Whether you write about your personal life with all of your wishes and secrets or build a new world – there’s always truth in it, and this process can help you through tough times.

Q: What and who inspires you to write?

A: Everything inspires me to write, things from A to Z – the world, love and hate, good and bad, people, pets, nature. It’s what I feel, see, hear but most of all I write about my personal experiences, the precious memories and moments.

Q:  When did you start writing?

A: I began the writing in my teenage years. My first works were poems, simple and short rhymes about living, loving and dying. My written lines always helped me to get along with different happenings. Since I’ve found out the magical power words, the writing is a part of me; I need it to exist because I couldn’t without it.

Q: What are your goals for 2011?

A: No longer to write as a no name authoress, I’m in search of finding a new agent, a publisher who trusts my talents and not the intention to change me and my stories. I’m the one who wants to change the literature. I want to see my first finished novel and children’s book standing in the bookstores. I want them to reach and touch other lives around the world with my words and my unmistakable writing.

Well we certainly hope that that her works get published, meanwhile enjoy her latest poem “Stranded” below and make sure to follow her on twitter.
