New Year’s Eve boasts and all-star cast and like Valentine’s Day audiences get to see a bevy of famous faces however find out why Rolling Stone gave this movie a zero-star rating.
New Year's Eve follows the lives of several couples and lonely hearts in New York over the course of New Year's Eve. Their stories are all interlinked and are cleverly intertwined however without revealing too much, certain story-lines remain underdeveloped.
Glee’s Lea Michele makes her debut on the silver-screen and is one of the breakout stars of the film. Michele plays back-up singer, Elise and gives a reverting performance at the end of the movie performing the holiday classic, Auld Lang Syne. Rumors spiraled of an off-screen romance between newly single, Ashton Kutcher and Lea Michele.
This is not the only standout moment in the movie, with a cameo appearance by Ryan Seacrest, director, Gary Marshall made the perfect choice to shoot New Years Eve in Times Square. This spectacular setting becomes a character on its own. Nevertheless this movie isn't completely cliché free and even landed a spot on Telegraph's 10 worst films of 2011.
