With the majority of Glee’s cast graduating this season it’s inevitable that audiences will lose interest once Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) or Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera) leave McKinley. It’s no wonder why NBC has signed on to produce the musical drama, SMASH which will premier February 2012.
SMASH follows the highs and lows of a Broadway musical from the first audition, right up to opening night. The musical is based on the life of Marilyn Monroe which adds yet another hint of intrigue and mystery to the already dramatic plot. Interestingly enough the concept for the show started in 2009 by Oscar, winning director, Steven Spielberg. Watch the extended preview of the show below:
With a talented cast and a highly decorative set of producers and directors SMASH is set to rake in a whole lot awards this season.
